Melita has accumulated a lot of both training and practice as a ceremonialist and sacred space-holder. She is a practitioner in the modalities of sound, vibration and energy healing, and has received training from master teachers in the field such as Lynda Ceasara (Berkeley Psychic Institute), Laura Inserra (MetaMusic Sound Healing), Eric Rubin and Zoe Inman (Multidimensional Bodywork and Reiki) and Bronwyn Ayla (Wu Wei Reiki Institute). She also has training in sound healing therapy from the Globe Institute of Sound Healing, as well as in Biofield Tuning, with the use of tuning forks for healing, clearing energy blockages, and encouraging harmony in the body.
Melita has a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the Naropa Institute, where she studied eco-psychology, Body-Mind Centering (BMC) and Mystical Judaism, with the late Rabbi Zalman Schachter Shalomi. She also has extensive training with Zachary Feder in Trans-Disciplinary Healing, a synthesis of Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing and Depth Psychology.
Melita facilitates ceremonial spaces, using her voice and song, as well as sound and vibrational tools, to create and hold a clarified space conducive to deep personal work, healing and transformation.
Her work as a prayer-leader in the Jewish community has greatly contributed to her ability to create and hold sacred space, and her decades-long work with young children has informed her capacity to be with people in the ceremonial field, which often requires a very high degree of presence and attunement.
Melita has apprenticed with several highly trained facilitators of plant medicine work, and she assists regularly in two different medicine communities near the Bay Area.
Melita also holds one-on-one journey experiences out of her home in Berkeley and also in Sebastopol.
