Mazal is a trio of long-time musical collaborators Melita Silberstein, Dave Rosenfeld and Jen Miriam Altman. Their acoustic music brings a sweet and atmospheric touch to your Jewish event. Tying together flavors of Israeli and traditional American folk, they also weave together strokes of klezmer, Celtic, Irish and other world music.
Their sounds would be fitting at events such as cocktail hours and luncheons, pre-ceremony music at weddings and b’nai mitzvahs, baby namings, tish’s, nosh’s and other events where one could imagine a soulful but mellow musical backdrop.
The music of Mazal is both instrumental as well as vocal, combining the sounds of mandolin, fiddle and acoustic guitar with the percussive tambre of cajon, riq and dumbek.
If desired, the trio can also be expanded into a full band with additional members, bringing in the sounds of woodwinds (clarinet & saxophone), xylophone, bass, drums and additional vocals.
